UPDATE: How to work with CarGurus shoppers who prequalified for financing

Posted by Sarah Pekala on May 25, 2020

Update: “Dealer Fees” now available in financing offers

We’ve made an adjustment to the pre-qualification process for shoppers based on dealer feedback. Shoppers who are pre-qualifying for financing will now see “Dealer Fees” added to the offer, and this will provide them a penny-perfect offer to work with you. This feature enhancement will help our dealer partners set the right expectations and minimize shopper objections during the sale. For any dealers without a listed Dealer Fee, we’ll use a state average.

Call your CarGurus rep at 1-800-CARGURUS to add your custom dealer fee.

Updates to the Removed Listing Activity tab make attribution easier

Posted by Meg Bernazzani on January 7, 2019

At CarGurus, we’re working hard to give our dealers better tools to solve the challenge of attribution. We recently launched an update to our Dealer Dashboard that should make it easier for dealers to see which CarGurus leads bought a vehicle.

Lead details added to Removed Listing Activity section

The Removed Listing Activity section isn’t so much new as it is improved. It lets dealers see their recently sold/removed listings, along with a breakdown of all the CarGurus leads and connections for those vehicles. What’s new is that we’ve added the details of those leads so it’s easier for dealers to tie a specific lead to the sale of a particular vehicle.

Why all reviews deserve your attention

Posted by Alex Leifer on May 21, 2018

In today’s digital world, reviews are everywhere. Sites like Yelp, Angie’s List, TripAdvisor, and even auto shopping sites like CarGurus give people an easy way to share their buying experiences—good and bad—with fellow shoppers. For consumers, reviews provide the transparency they need to make informed buying decisions.

But reviews aren’t just about customer satisfaction. Your dealership can leverage them as a powerful marketing tool to drive customers to your dealership. In order to use them to your advantage though, you need to start paying attention—and responding—to them.

Posted by Mark Duly on May 7, 2018

With 95% of car shoppers using digital as a source of information, the value of adding options to your Vehicle Detail Pages (VDPs) cannot be overstated. Shoppers are searching for vehicle details, identifying value-added options, and looking at vehicle photos—all before ever stepping foot on your lot.

If you’re not providing this critical information on your VDPs, you could be missing out on countless sales opportunities—and overlooking a simple yet effective way to increase your success on CarGurus.
