In March, the CarGurus team will head to Las Vegas, NV for the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) Show — one of the industry’s premier events. We love attending each year because we get to meet with lots of dealers, learn from industry experts, and have some great conversations with our customers!
While there are all kinds of cool things to get excited about at the NADA Show this year, here’s what we’re most looking forward to – and where we think dealers will get a lot of value.
1. The J.D. Power Automotive Summit and NADA Welcome Reception. Kicking off the NADA Show, this full day event will set the tone for the weekend. During the summit, a variety of speakers – including our very own Sam Zales – will share their observations about emerging trends in the auto industry. In the evening, we’re excited to network with key industry leaders and talk to dealers about their experiences in the business. It’s rare to have so many auto-industry minds in one place, and we can’t wait to hear what everyone has to say!
2. Interesting Keynote Speakers. NADA always delivers speakers within and beyond the auto industry, but their messages and experiences can be inspiring to all. A few of the ones we’re looking forward to are:
John Krafcik: CEO of Waymo, a self-driving technology company focused on making it safe and easy for people and things to move around. He’ll draw on his experience in both the automotive and technology space, but we’re particularly eager to learn more about his view on the future of autonomous cars.
Wes Lutz: president of Extreme Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep-Ram in Jackson, MI and 2017 vice chairman of NADA. With more than 40 years of experience in automotive retail, we think his keynote address will be valuable to both dealers and vendors.
Robert O’Neill: one of the most highly-decorated combat veterans and best-selling author of The Operator: Firing the Shots That Killed Osama bin Laden and My Years as a SEAL Team Warrior. A former SEAL Team Six leader involved in our nation’s most important campaigns, his story is one we all can learn from and appreciate.
3. The Distinguished Speaker Series. A new addition to the NADA Show’s schedule this year, the Distinguished Speaker Series gives attendees the chance to hear experts discuss four key topics: leadership, dealership culture, team building, and personal and business success.
So, what can you expect? The speakers will dive into each theme and share tips for building a successful dealership by investing in your team and their success. We’re interested to learn how this can help dealerships improve their overall business and thrive.
4. Workshops. The NADA Show provides a great opportunity to learn something new. With more than 120 sessions in eight different tracks and a focus on helping dealers ‘win big at retailing,’ there’s something for everyone.
We’re most looking forward to the Digital & Traditional Marketing track, which will provide training and insights about hot topics in auto marketing, like social media and search marketing.
